About Me

Hi guys and welcome to Lungu Designs! I'm Christy and I love all things home! My home passions include – but are definitely not limited to –  renovating, designing, and decorating.

I was born and raised in the DMV (DC, MD, VA) area. I decided to permanently ditch the cold weather and moved down to the sunshine state in 2015. I'm a mother (to a toddler boy), wife, and an avid coffee drinker.

I love Jesus, spending time with my family, and anything that is the color Robin-Egg Blue. I love a good book; Brene Brown is my favorite author. I love beautiful interior photography; there's just something so aesthetically pleasing about crisp, vibrant photos of staged furniture and decor. I love event planning, DIY projects, and creative little details. I love playing with colors, fabrics, and textiles. I love the natural beauty of flowers and plants. The most important things to me are the little things because the little things are what make life grand.

My passion for all things home began in 2016 when my husband and I bought our fixer-upper. I've already dubbed it our “forever home” because I could never imagine parting with it. I know that God gave us this old, worn, and broken house so that we could restore it, just as He has restored us. This is why I love renovation and restoration projects. It is a constant reminder to me of how God restored and mended my brokenness when he brought my husband into my life. He has made my life beautiful and given it new meaning.

When we went to go look at the house for the very first time, we knew it was the perfect house for us. One day I’ll tell you the full (crazy) story, but here’s the super short version. The house was missing a front door, HVAC unit, water heaters and the list goes on, but it had the bones and structure we were looking for. The light bulbs immediately went off in my brain and a wave of ideas came flooding in about how we could make this house beautiful and perfect for us. Three (long) years later, this old broken house has now become the place we call, “home.” It is our oasis and I couldn't imagine living elsewhere. It has been a beautiful journey restoring this fixer-upper and I am so excited to be sharing our journey with you all.

My hope is to inspire you to create your own oasis at home, with functionality and affordable style. If you'd like to work with me, you can find out more here.
